Nord is a National Scout Jamboree for the Norwegian Scout and Guide association, from 1st to 8th July 2017 in Bodø. During the summer weeks, the sun never sets and scouts can enjoy great activities day and night.

 

Be prepared to go north for the trip of a lifetime packed with exciting experiences, beautiful scenery, amazing light and many new friends!

 

The Australian Contingent will depart Australia around 25 June, spending time in Oslo prior to Nord. Following the Jamboree, an optional 6 day post tour will be available, returning to Australia around 16 July 2017.

Registrations are CLOSED for participation in one of four categories: 

  • Participants (“speidere”) - Scouts/Venturers aged 11 to 16.5 years (at the start of Jamboree) Any scouts under 12 need a parent attending the Australian Contingent as an approved leader/parent helper.

  • Youth Staff (“rovere”) - Venturers/Rovers aged 16.5 to 25 years (at the start of the Jamboree). Will be camping in the “rover camp”, will be supporting activity leaders/ running activities for participants. There is a separate activity program for “rovere”

  • Service Staff – Scouts Australia appointed leaders/parent helpers/ fellowship members aged 18 and above (at the start of the Jamboree). Will be camping in the “Staff Camp” and will be allocated roles/ duties by the Jamboree

  • Line Leaders – Scouts Australia appointed leaders/fellowship members aged 18 and above (at the start of the Jamboree). Will be camping with the Australian scouts in troop camps, will act as line leaders during the Jamboree

 

Three travel options are offered for Nord 2017. Participants can travel independently and attend only the pre Jamboree activities in Oslo and the Jamboree in Bodo. This is classified as “destination only”.

Participants may choose to travel to Norway with the contingent, however return to Australia immediately following the Jamboree. This is classified as “destination and flights”.

The final option is to travel with the contingent to Norway, attend pre Jamboree, Jamboree and post tour activities and return to Australia with the contingent. This is classified as “destination, flights and post-tour”.   Cost details are:

Destination only:                             $2 100

Destination and flights:                   $4 200

Destination, flights and post-tour:  $5 500

Payment of the deposit is required at the time of application submission. The application will not be processed until a deposit is paid. Positions on Nord 2017 will be limited and failure to pay the deposit may result in a position not being offered. Submitting an application is no guarantee of acceptance to attend this event. Deposits will be fully refunded should the application in the event that an application is not approved.  See also the Information Sheet" (see attached file)
